We are currently being presented with a terrific opportunity to draw closer to our Savior Jesus Christ. Palm Sunday and the events of Holy Week are being commemorated, Easter and the Savior’s resurrection will be celebrated, and the following Sunday we will experience General Conference.
The prophet Abinadi taught the truths of the resurrection in Mosiah 16:7-9:
7 And if Christ had not risen from the dead, or have broken the bands of death that the grave should have no victory, and that death should have no sting, there could have been no resurrection.
8 But there is a resurrection, therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ.
9 He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death.
In one of our Church hymns we sing:
Come, listen to a prophet’s voice,
And hear the word of God,
And in the way of truth rejoice,
And sing for joy aloud;
We’ve found the way the prophets went
Who lived in days of yore;
Another prophet now is sent
This knowledge to restore.

It is a great blessing to have the scriptures and the many truths and teachings that are contained therein. One of the great patterns of the scriptures is how the Lord uses prophets to manifest His will, to lead and guide His people.
Jesus Christ lives! This is His church. Hear Him.
